An Offaly TD is joining with four others to form a rural independent group in the Dáil.
Carol Nolan, Michael and Danny Healy-Rae, Michael Collins and Mattie McGrath came to the decision following a meeting in Portlaoise yesterday.
The Birr woman was the fourth TD elected in the Laois/Offaly constituency last weekend.
She says the group is dedicated to representing rural voices in the Leinster House:
The independent TD is also ruling out going into government with Sinn Féin.
Deputy Nolan resigned from Sinn Féin in 2018, over the party's stance on abortion.
She says, while she's willing to talk to everyone on the formation of a government, she will not go into coalition with or rejoin the party:
