Carol Nolan says Irish Aid donated €650m to countries guilty of persecuting Christians.
An Offaly TD is expressing concern over increasing persecution of Christians and Ireland’s financial support for the states involved.
More than €650m was given between 2011 and 2016 to countries listed by Open Doors on its World Watch List as the worst offenders for violence against Christians.
Five countries, including Somalia, Sudan, and Afghanistan, considered guilty of ‘extreme persecution, received €115m from the total allocation.
