Offaly's comedian Neil Delamere was accompanied by TV personality Martin King, actor Bryan Murray who has been diagnosed with the condition, Miss Cork Rachel O'Leary and entrepreneurs Pamela Laird and Ellen Kavanagh Jones.
In the midlands, over 3,000 people are living with dementia, with the highest number of 1,154 in Westmeath, 1,068 in Offaly and 962 in Laois.
The Memory Walk will take place in 30 locations across Ireland on Sunday the 24th of September.
