Opposition TD Says Greater Engagement Could Have Prevented Ploughing Cancellation

The organisers have been hitting out government for a lack of clarity on covid restrictions.

A midlands TD says the level of engagement between the government and the National Ploughing Association was disappointing.

The NPA last week announced the trade exhibition at this year's Ploughing Championships and the World Ploughing Contest will not go ahead in Laois this year.

Responding to criticism from the organisers for a lack of communication, Laois-Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Seán Fleming said the government couldn't offer any more clarity on what restrictions will be in place in September.
