The legal bill for the postponed project is estimated at €1m.
The OPW Minister says he’ll dedicate time to ‘sorting out’ the spiralling costs of the National Children’s Science Centre.
The proposal for the project dates back to 2003 but it failed to get off the ground after the 2008 crash.
Last September the Comptroller and Auditor General criticised the OPW for failing to protect public funds, with legal costs relating to the non-existent centre surpassing €1m.
