OPW Office Proposing Major Flood Defence Overhaul

The central pillar of of the proposal will be new flood relief centres around the country.

A major overhaul of emergency responses to flooding and severe weather could be on the cards. 

Government is reportedly considering the roll-out of permanent flood relief centres at key regional locations. 

The centres would store essential equipment like generators and industrial pumps. 

Minister for the Office of Public Works and Longford Westmeath TD Kevin Boxer Moran says the project will be worth every cent it costs:
