OPW Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran is calling TFI Local Link a "magnificent service".
A Laois estate is holding free events this month for senior citizens under a new initiative by the OPW.
Emo Court and Estate is offering guided tours of their gardens and sculptures for those who want to learn more about the sites history.
The sculpture tour takes place on May 14th at 3 pm while the guided garden tour takes place on May 27th at 3pm.
It's part of the OPW's 'Celebrating Arts and Creativity As We Age' programme as part of their Bealtaine festival.
OPW Minister TD Kevin 'Boxer' Moran has also set Friday May 23rd, as a free admission day for all fee paying heritage sites.
Transport for Ireland will also provide free entry to sites when a local link or travel pass ticket is presented.
The Longford Westmeath rep says: “The OPW is delighted to collaborate with Transport for Ireland Local Links Network in support of the Bealtaine festival this May. Our partnership with Transport for Ireland aims to highlight the Local Links service and we are encouraging Senior Citizens to avail of this magnificent service and get out to visit your local heritage site. We are fortunate to have such iconic sites in rural Ireland on the Local Links network - including Glendalough and Clonmacnoise Monastic Sites, Ennis Friary and Ionad an Bhlascaoid – the Blasket Centre”.
