Organisers Warn Of Delays From Electric Picnic Site

Thousands are making their way home following the conclusion of the festival.

Gardaí have been out in force on the country's roads since the early hours of this morning as part of National Slowdown Day.

The initiative coincides with the first full week of schools reopening, where higher volumes of traffic are expected on the roads.

Thousands of people are also making their way home from this year's Electric Picnic Festival in Stradbally, County Laois this afternoon.

Organisers say management and Gardaí at the festival are working hard to get everyone out of the site safely.

Organisers have advised people to bring water and food as they may be waiting a while.

They're also advising people to use the toilets in the car parks before attempting to exit the car parks in Stradbally. 

Garda Grainne O'Shea from Waterford Garda Station is urging those driving home from the festival to take every precaution:
