Kevin Boxer Moran is not conceding but expects a miracle to secure a seat.
Independent Kevin Boxer Moran is comparing his national political career to that of a footballer - brief but he enjoyed every bit of it.
Speaking at the count ahead of the announcement of the first official count, he says he's not conceding but that only a miracle will secure his seat.
He went on to say that over the last 4-5 days there has been a significant shift - and there was a surge for Sinn Fein.
The Athlone man will take a break and a holiday away with his family before returning to his business in his home town.
