Over 1200 Litres Of Water Consumed Daily In The Midlands

Nationally, there's been a 1% drop in the amount of water consumed per day from 2020.

The three midlands counties consume more water than almost every other county in the country.

Latest CSO figures show nationally, water consumption is down marginally by 1% since last year, at an average of 375 litres per day.

Laois leads the way in the midlands, at 427 litres daily, second only to Longford.

That figure is slightly lower in Offaly, where it's 424 litres, and 410 in Westmeath.

The highest month for water consumption in the midlands was June.
