The Newborn Baby Grant was a measured announced in the last Budget.
Over 266 parents across the Midlands will receive their first payment of a grant to help with the costs of their newborns this week.
The Newborn Baby Grant was announced in the last Budget and will apply automatically to all children born on or after the 1st of December 2024.
99 families will get the grant in Westmeath, 88 in Laois and 80 in Offaly.
The bonus payment will be paid alongside the first month of the child benefit payment as part of the Government's New First 5 strategy.
Nationally, over 4,400 families will recieve the grant for 4,522 children.
