2,470 homes were retrofitted in the midlands at the end of last year.
Figures from the SEAI Retrofit Full Year Report 2023 show that 871 properties were upgraded in Laois, the highest number in the region.
The second highest figure is in Westmeath with 854 premises retrofitted and 745 in Offaly.
Over 67,000 applications for retrofit works were made nationally last year, while just under 48,000 properties saw the works completed.
