There are fears the waiting lists will lead to a perfect storm in women's healthcare.
Over 3,500 women are waiting for a gynecology appointment in midlands hospitals - with 718 on the list for more than 18 months.
1,829 are waiting to be seen at Portlaoise Regional Hospital, and 1,759 in Mullingar.
Nationally, just over 30,000 women are waiting for an appointment, 13 per cent of whom are on the list for more than 18 months.
