There are 230 Ukrainian pupils enrolled in primary and secondary schools in Westmeath, the most in the region.
192 pupils are in Laois schools, while 123 are in Offaly.
According to the Department of Education, just short of 8,000 are in primary schools nationwide, with just under 4,600 pupils enrolled in secondary schools.
Among the counties with the largest number of students attending schools is Dublin, at 1,905, Cork, with 1,253 and County Kerry, with 1,222.
