There are nearly 600 Ukrainians enrolled in schools in the midlands.
387 of those are in primary schools in the region - 112 in Laois, 96 in Offaly and 179 in Westmeath.
The remaining 191 Ukrainian students are in post-primary schools - 77 of those are in Laois, 35 in Offaly and 79 in Westmeath.
Nationwide, there are nearly 14,000 Ukrainian pupils in Irish schools, 8,823 of those are in primary education, and 4,930 are in post-primary schools.
