Over €1 Million Allocated To Midlands Historical Sites

Nationally, 140 monuments will benefit from €8 million in funding.

Over €1 million euro in funding has been announced for the preservation of historical sites across the midlands.

A total of €8 million euro will be granted to 140 monuments across the country under the Community Monuments Fund.

Westmeath will receive €530,986 for 8 projects, Offaly will get €444,547 for 6 projects and Laois will be granted €153,040 for 4 projects.

  • €60,300 in funding under Stream 1 for Dysart Enos Church
  • €21,710 in funding under Stream 12 for Clonkeen Church and Graveyard
  • €27,789 in funding under Stream 12 for Ballyadden Medieval Church and Graveyard

OFFALY

  • €100,000 in funding for Killeigh Chapter House
  • €100,000 in funding for Seir Kieran Graveyard Wall
  • €98,896 in funding for Kilbride Church
  • €93,438 in funding for Monasteroris Church
  • €29,889 in funding for Ballintemple Church
  • €22,325 in funding for the staircase in Emmel Castle

WESTMEATH

  • €120,000 in funding for St Owen's Church, Ballymore
  • €100,000 in funding for Court Devinish
  • €100,000 in funding for Monasset Tower House
  • €100,000 in funding for Templecross Church
  • €30,000 in funding for Castlelost Church and Graveyard
  • €29,647 in funding for Kilpatrick Church
  • €21,340 in funding for Culleenmore Towerhouse
  • €30,000 in funding for St Feichin's Well and Mill
