County Councils across the Midlands are getting €6.7m in funding for housing adaption grants for older and disabled people.
The Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People helps people to install accessible stairlifts, accessible bathrooms and wheelchair ramps.
For Westmeath County Council the figure is €2,405,378, in Laois it's €2,189,676 with the local authority in Offaly getting €2,405,378.
The national figure is at €117m this year - an increase of 26%.
