It comes into effect at 6pm.
Storm Fergus is expected to make land fall today as a Status Orange wind warning comes into effect for counties Clare, Galway and Mayo at 3 this afternoon until 8 this evening.
A Status Yellow wind warning for the same three counties will be in place from 2pm until 9pm.
The storm will bring very strong onshore winds, coupled with high waves and high tides.
A separate Status Yellow wind warning will be in place for counties Cavan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo from 6pm until midnight
