People Before Profit Will Support Farmers Despite Wealth Tax On Land Owners

Its Longford-Westmeath election candidate says their manifesto has a number of rural policies.

People Before Profit says it intends to support farmers into the future, despite planning to introduce a wealth tax on land.

The party's Longford-Westmeath election candidate Barbara Smyth says, as part of their reform of Ireland's tax model, a tax of 2% per year would be brought in for assets over €1 million.

However, she says their manifesto has rural policies that will help meet the needs of farmers and ensure they aren't neglected:
