People In Dublin Making Decisions For The Midlands "Makes No Sense" - Councillor

A local representative is speaking out about the application process for rural support schemes.

It makes no sense that people in Dublin are making decisions for the midlands. 

Fianna Fáil Councillor John Shaw says time and resources are being wasted as staff in Westmeath County Council have to send applications for rural support schemes to the Department to be approved.

He believes there would be less red tape if local authorities were able to decide on which projects received funding under initiatives like the town and village renewal scheme & Clár:
