The works began over 20 years ago on the housing estates in Portarlington.
Permission has been granted for 67 new homes in Laois.
The proposed development includes a mixture of two, three and four bedroom semi detached, detached and terraced properties alongside parking spaces, walkways and associated works.
These houses will complete the works started over 20 years ago by applicants Kingscroft Developments Ltd on the Castlelea, Gandon and Landsdown estates in the Cooltederry area of Portarlington.
Laois County Council have granted permission subject to 26 conditions.
