Millionaire pharma CEO Gareth Sheridan has announced his candidacy for the presidency of Ireland at this year's Tullamore Show.
The man behind Nasdaq-listed pharmaceutical company Nutriband says the country needs a young President, who advocates for people who feel unrepresented.
The 35 year old was named South Dublin County Council's 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' in 2014, with Nutriband being reconised as 'Best New Product' by the Bank Of Ireland Start-Up awards in the same year.
Mr Sheridan is hinting his route into the presidential race may come through support from county councils.
He says he's been talking to local reps for the last year and is "confident" he'll secure the backing and nominations of at least four local authorities.
The Dubliner is also refuting the premise that he lacks the political experience to work in Áras an Uachtaráin:
