A National Pig Farmers meeting will be held in Laois this evening.
Ireland has one of the best protein products in the world and farmers can't get a sustainable price for it.
Those are the thoughts of the IFA Pig Committee Chair Michael Caffrey, ahead of this evening's National Pig Farmers meeting in the Killeshin Hotel in Laois.
Pig prices have fallen across Europe due to tarriffs on EU pigmeat, including a 20% hit on Irish pigmeat export.
