Plan Launched For Long-Term Student Accommodation

It was launched alongside an announcement on the development of over 500 beds for students.

A new long-term policy to develop student accommodation has been announced. 

521 beds will be undergoing construction in DCU and Maynooth University in the coming months. 

More projects are planned for UCD and Trinity College Dublin.

Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says these new beds will be coming on stream in 2026: 

Applications for student accommodation are now open for the Technological Universities.

It aims provide funding for universities to build and repurpose older buildings for student housing, as well as the promotion of digs.
