The Coláiste Phobal in Roscrea has been given the green light.
Planning permission is being approved for a new 800-student Coláiste Phobal secondary school in the Midlands.
The development in Roscrea will comprise of general and specialist classrooms, a general-purpose hall, PE hall, administrative offices, staff facilities and associated ancillary accommodation.
The application also provides for the demolition of the existing school buildings and extensions, together with the removal of all existing prefabricated structures from the site.
The proposals include 80 car parking spaces, five new ball courts, landscaped gardens, and dedicated outdoor social and recreational spaces for the new school.
Tipperary County Council granted permission subject to 12 conditions.
