Planning Permission Sought For Major Nursing Home In Offaly

Plans contain scope for 244 beds.

A major 244-bed nursing home and rehab centre could soon be built in Offaly.

Planning permission is being sought this week to construct the facility on the site previously earmarked for a private hospital in Tullamore.

The same contractors, John Flanagan Developments Limited, are now designing the 36 million euro project around the existing steel frame structure on the N52 bypass, that's been lying idle since the hospital project was abandoned in 2007.
