A new greenway in Offaly has moved a step closer.
Engineering consultancies have been invited to tender for a financial assessment of the proposed greenway extension from Shannon Harbour to Banagher.
The initiative seeks to promote Shannon Harbour as a destination along the Grand Canal Greenway and to support tourism related uses.
A contract for the proposed work is two months, with a final decision on a successful tenderer set to be made on November 11th.
