Plans For €15 Million STEM Facility For Athlone IT Progess To Next Step

It'll increase the capacity of the departments by 1,000 students. 

Plans for the development of a €15 million STEM building for Athlone Institute of Technology have moved one step closer. 

Higher Education Minister Simon Harris has announced the tender process for it and five other new buildings across Irish universities will begin immediately. 

The more than 6,000 square metre project will include science labs, lecture theatres, classrooms and other facilities.

Once completed, it'll increase the capacity of the sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics departments by 1,000 students.
