Plans For Later Opening Times For Night Life Economy Won't Be In Place For Summer

New legislation would have seen nightclubs remaining open until 6am.

Long running plans to allow nightclubs and bars to stay open later are not expected to be in place by the summer as expected.

Legislation is being worked on that will see bars operating until 12.30am and clubs trading until 6am.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says he thinks it will take more time before the new laws are enacted.
