42 modular homes will be built on an 11 acre site in a Laois town.

People in Laois are being invited to view plans for a temporary accommodation site for Ukrainian refugees.

42 modular homes are being built on an 11 acre site in Rathdowney to house those fleeing the war.

Councillor John King expects the modular homes will provide accommodation for a minimum of 140 people.

The information day is taking place in the town library this afternoon, from 4.30pm until 6.30pm.

The Fine Gael rep hopes a successful meeting will lead to more in the future:
