Plans are being lodged for a solar farm with an expected operational lifespan of 40 years in Offaly.
The development involves a 10 year planning permission for the construction and completion of a 143.4-hectare solar PV renewable energy scheme for the townlands of Raheenbeg, Ballychristal, Killarles, and Bawnmore.
Proposals includes PV panels on metal mounting structures, inverters, internal access roads, perimeter fencing with CCTV and access gates.
Plans will also see the use of two existing access points, including the improvement and widening of an existing entrance from the L1013 road.
A decision on the planning application by Offaly County Council is due by August 12th.
