Ploughing Organisers Appeal For Host Families As Championships Return To Laois

There's concern about a shortage of accommodation this September.

Laois residents are being asked to volunteer as host homes for this year's National Ploughing Championships.

The organisers are concerned there may be a shortage of accommodation when the event returns to Ratheniska from 20th to 22nd September.

The National Ploughing Association has a list of recommended rates hosts can charge available on its website.

Assistant Managing Director Anna Marie McHugh says they want to keep the footfall from the weekend within the county:

You can sign up to offer accommodation here.
