A Laois community group is lobbying for a full feasibility study into a €25 million regional sports complex in the town.

The group believe Portarlington has better accessibility, faster population growth, and available land compared to Portlaoise.
The facility would boost tourism, jobs, and regional balance across Laois and the Midlands.
The group is writng to local TDs and Laois County Council, urging them to support the proposal.
