Large scale interviews have been carried out in relation to the allegations.
Large scale interviews have been carried out at Portlaoise prison, relating to allegations that junior officers were encouraging prisoners to attack senior officers.
According to the Irish Examiner, the issue was raised by Freddie Thompson in 2019, who's serving a life sentence for murder.
Thompson alleged junior officers were badmouthing more senior guards to inmates, putting their lives at risk.
A garda investigation was launched in 2021 after one of the senior officers made a complaint and a file has now been sent to the DPP.
