Michael D. Higgins is mourning the loss of the 11 year-old Bernese Mountain Dog.
The President is mourning the loss of his beloved dog, Bród.
Michael D. Higgins has confirmed the 11 year old Bernese Mountain Dog has passed away.
He says he was very much loved by all those who met him at Áras an Uachtaráin, describing him as "one of the most photographed dogs in Ireland".
President Higgins says Bród will be sadly missed - particulary by his companion Misneach, the President's last remaining dog.
