Private Nursing Homes Forced To Accept High Fees - Nursing Homes Ireland CEO

It follows the closure of small Laois nursing home Ballard Lodge last month.

The private nursing sector is also being forced into accepting "uneconomic" fees

That's the view of the CEO of Nursing Homes Ireland, Tadhg Daly.

It follows the unexpected closure of Ballard House in Portlaoise last month due to the current 'economic and regulatory landscape'.

Laois rep Caroline Dwane-Stanley believes smaller homes are being squeezed out of the sector and need better government support to meet HIQA regulations.
