The funding application for the refuge in Tullamore has passed its first stage.
A funding application for a domestic violence refuge in Offaly has passed its first approval stage.
The application was submitted by Oaklee Housing Association under the Capital Assistance Scheme.
The proposed refuge will be located in Tullamore, a priority area under the National Strategy on Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.
The development aims to help double refuge and safe accommodation capacity nationwide.
Once operational, the facility will provide ten family units with 24/7 crisis support, allowing women and children to access safety without leaving the county.
