'Giving Young People the Sun, Moon and Stars' will be in the People's Park Portlaoise.
Half a million euro has been allocated for new social spaces for teenagers, including a project for a Laois park.
The local authority is receiving €125,000 for its planned project in Portlaoise's People's Park with the local branch of Comhairle na nÓg.
'Giving Young People the Sun, Moon and Stars' will be a meeting space for teenagers, with The Department of Children saying it recognises more "hang out" areas are needed.
It secured funding this year to allow local authorities to develop these kinds of areas with input from teenagers.
