The median price of a home is almost €400k.
The Midlands saw the largest growth in house prices outside of Dublin in the year to February.
The rate at which property prices rose across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath was 15.3%.
Nationally they went up by 6.8% in that period, compared to 7.1% in 12 months to January.
The cost of buying a home in Dublin increased by 5.6%, while prices outside the capital are up 7.8%.
CSO figures show the median price of a home is €390,000.
