Public Expenditure Minister Doesn't Want Employees To Lose Half Their Pay

There have been calls for a €1,000 tax break for workers.

The Public Expenditure Minister says he doesn't want employees to lose half of their pay rise to tax.

Earlier this year, Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke, Kildare South Deputy Martin Heydon and Junior Finance Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill called for a €1,000 tax break for workers.

When asked if he would like to see this measure introduced in this year's Budget, Paschal Donohoe says he and the Finance Minister will be looking at other ways to support workers:
