The highest rate in the midlands was in Offaly.
Nearly a quarter of people on probation in the midlands re-offended in 2019.
New figures from the CSO show there was a re-offending rate of 27% in Offaly that year, followed by 24% in Laois and just over one in five in Westmeath.
Over 60 people did so within one-year.
Probation related re-offending rates among men under 25 dropped by 6% between 2018 and 2019, however it increased among woman in that age group by the same figure.
That age range, among both men and women, is the most likely to re-offend within one-year.
