Question Over Conscientious Objections To Assisted Dying

The issue was raised during the Joint Committee meeting.

It has been questioned whether or not conscientious objection would be available in the case of assisted dying in Ireland.

The Joint Committee on Assisted Dying were today discussing the Ethics of Autonomy in Leinster House. 

As the moment, healthcare professionals in Ireland are legally permitted to refuse to provide abortion care based on personal beliefs. 

Member of the Committee and Longford Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy posed the question to a legal advisor for the Pro Life Campaign:
