Offaly and Westmeath experienced swift decreases.
There's been a major increase in the amount of new homes granted planning permission in Laois in the third quarter of the year.
Permissions granted are up 930% when compared to the same period last year.
New stats from the CSO show there were 474 approvals issued in Q3 this year compared to just 46 in 2024.
Across the region, planning permissions are up 17% in the Midlands.
The figure is down 85% in Westmeath from 399 to 59.
While, the amount of new homes granted permission in Offaly fell by 17% from 139 to 116 this year.
