The call comes after a National Slow Down Day campaign that saw multiple speeding offences in the midlands highlighted by Gardaí.
One Westmeath driver was clocked at 142km/h in a 120 Zone on the M6 in Athlone, a motorist in Offaly was caught speeding at 134km/h on the N52, while Laois Gardaí stopped a driver speeding 15km/h over the limit in Portarlington.
