The Offaly TD wants the county's work to be considered in new targets set by the Housing and Energy Ministers.
An Offaly TD is hoping that the county's work in generating wind and solar energy will be factored into new targets.
The Housing and Energy Ministers plan to put in place the national guidelines by the end of the year, with a different target for each county
.Fianna Fail Offaly TD Tony McCormack says Offaly's renewable energy output will grow to cover a third of Ireland's energy requirements.
Deputy McCormack has concerns that it won't be accounted for in the county's target and has met with both Ministers on the issue.
He says he's hoping for a positive result:
