Rent Pressure Zones: Changes Provoke Debate From Both Sides

The new measures are sparking divided opinions.

Plans to overhaul rent pressure zones will be 'a help to landlords'. 

That’s according to the owner of Clement Herron Real Estate in Portlaoise, as the government prepares to bring new measures on rent pressure zones to Cabinet this week. 

Under the proposals, rents for newly-built properties in RPZs would no longer be capped at 2 per cent annually, but instead be tied to the rate of inflation.
