Restrictions On Partners Attending Births At A Midlands Hospital Have Been Lifted

Management says it will notify patients will be notified if any further restrictions are required.

Restrictions on partners attending the delivery of babies at Mullingar Regional Hospital have been lifted.

The protocol which was introduced last week to limit the spread of covid-19 had faced widespread criticism.

However, the measures do remain in place for ante-natal, post-natal and theatre units.

In a statement this afternoon, hospital management says partners will be called to attend the delivery unit approximately 30 minutes before the birth of their baby.
