Retention planning is being granted for a pub that was converted into IPAS accommodation in Laois
An application was submitted last July by Marc Lennon for Peader’s Bar on Mary Street in Durrow, to be converted into accommodation for individuals seeking shelter through the International Protection Accommodation Service.
Mr Lennon wanted to retain the changed use of the ground floor bar and first floor to provide accommodation consisting of eight bedrooms.
Permission was also granted for a single-storey rear extension providing three additional bedrooms, a 15 square metre kitchen, communal living/dining area, laundry room, and male and female bathroom and shower facilities.
Planning is being approved by Laois County Council subject to 15 conditions.
