The seizures were made in the Midlands, Dublin and Rosslare Europort.
Over the past week, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €336,700 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 9.8kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of almost €189,600
- 1.13Kg of methamphetamine with an estimated value of over €67,800,
- 2.07kg of cannabis resin with an estimated value of over €12,420,
- Various other illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €5,380
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €10,100, and represents a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €7,600
- 3 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of almost €90, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €68 and 231 other counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €48,537
The drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Ciara. The parcels originated from the USA, UK, Canada, and India, were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The cigarettes and alcohol products were seized in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Thirteen weapons were also seized, and along with 50 Lidocaine Injectables and 10 Lemon Bottle Injectables.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
