The detections were achieved through risk profiling and operations guided by intelligence.
Over the past week, commencing 02/02/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €105,000 in various operations in the Midlands, Dublin, Kilkenny, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 2.6kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of over €15,430,
- 0.5kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €10,620,
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €2,160,
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €5,150 and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €4,040,
- Over 102.3 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €1,410 representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €875, and
- 97 counterfeit items with an estimated value of €70,230.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling. The parcels originated from the USA, the UK, Canada, Israel, and India, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Five weapon accessories were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
